Entertainment One Teams Up with Dave Matthews for New Travel Series

Dave Matthews will expose the music scenes of conflict zones around the world in a new travel TV series. Inspired by a recent U.S. cultural mission to Cuba, the show will chronicle Matthew’s journey exploring the illegal underground music of Tehran, Iran and the hip-hop community in Dakar, Senegal.

“When we look at history through the lens of the arts we get a more human perspective,” Matthews said. “We should look at the contemporary world that way. What are you reading? How does music make you feel? What makes you want to dance? What is art? What does it mean to be human? What matters to you? If you could go to far away places with these questions, what would you find?”

The program is still in development through Matthews’ Stolen Sky Productions, LBI Entertainment and Entertainment One. The program has yet to be given a title or be picked up by a network.

As for his own music, the Dave Matthews Band spent much of 2016 on the road celebrating their 25th anniversary. The group still has one U.S. date left this year, November 27th at DAR Constitution Hall in Washington D.C. and a string of international dates already scheduled for 2017.
